In short: AP Inter 1st year changed a lot recently. BIEAP moved to NCERT-based textbooks. It merged Maths 1A and 1B into a single 100-mark paper. Physics and Chemistry became 85-mark papers. Botany and Zoology were combined into one 85-mark Biology paper (about 43 + 42 marks). 1-mark objective questions were added in all subjects, and the pass mark is now 35. This guide gives stream-wise important questions for MPC, BiPC and CEC under the new pattern. Older AP Inter question banks built on the previous state syllabus will miss many of the new NCERT topics, so use NCERT-based material.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is AP Inter 1st year based on NCERT now?
Yes. BIEAP introduced NCERT-based textbooks for 1st year from the 2025-26 academic year. Questions now follow NCERT Class 11 chapters. Old question banks based on the previous state syllabus may include topics that are no longer in the syllabus.
Is Maths still split into 1A and 1B?
No. Maths 1A and 1B have been merged into a single 100-mark Maths paper for 1st year. Prepare all NCERT Class 11 Maths chapters for one combined paper.
How is the new Biology paper structured?
Botany and Zoology are now combined into one 85-mark Biology paper, with roughly 43 marks for Botany and 42 for Zoology. Prepare both halves evenly and practise diagrams from each.
What is the pass mark in AP Inter 1st year?
The pass mark is 35% under the revised rules. Earlier, some papers had a lower absolute pass mark. Confirm the exact rule for your subject in the BIEAP circular.
Do 1st year marks matter for EAPCET?
EAPCET rank uses a 25% weightage of Intermediate marks, based on the group subjects (for MPC: Maths, Physics, Chemistry). Strong 1st year marks help your final rank. See our EAPCET with Inter preparation guide.
Where do I get AP Inter 1st year model papers?
BIEAP publishes model papers and blueprints on bie.ap.gov.in. Solve them under timed conditions, especially to get used to the new 1-mark objective section.
